We will visit accompanied by our guide Gabriel one of the 7 new wonders of the world. Chichén Itzá is one of the largest restored centers in the Yucatan Peninsula. With more than 1,000 years of history, it was one of the most important political, religious and military centers of the Mayan world. Inside, we can enjoy its large esplanades and visit several buildings that have survived the passage of time. The observatory, the temple of the warriors, the castle of Kukulkan and the thousand columns are some of the structures that are part of the great precinct of Chichén Itzá. The visit to the archaeological zone lasts approximately 3 hours.

Cenote and Hacienda

Leaving the archaeological zone, we will go to a cenote for now unknown to many, we will move away from mass tourism to enjoy this wonder of nature. The cenotes are a kind of natural pool on the ground formed by underground water and aquifers that the Mayans believed was the entrance to the underworld. We will enjoy this spectacular cenote of turquoise blue waters for approximately one hour.

We will visit also without leaving the cenote a small hacienda of henequen, the formerly known as green gold. This gathers in its history the three great periods of the Yucatan of the past, the prehispanic life, the colonial and the henequen boom of the late nineteenth and early twentieth century.

Today is an eco-tourism park where we can taste their typical dishes such as Cochinita Pibil, Lomitos de Valladolid, Poc Chuc, among other options in the region.

City of Valladolid

We will continue our trip through one of the oldest cities of the Yucatan Peninsula, this is Valladolid. Important for the History of Mexico, named «Heroic City» with several outstanding events: the war of castes and the first spark of the Mexican Revolution.
