Xcaret means in Mayan «small cove», the geographically convenient location of this cove made it attractive to the Mayans, who built a port and a mercantile center. Today, it is the most famous eco-archaeological park in the world.
Xcaret offers endless activities and places to spend a spectacular day! In it you can explore trails in the jungle, reef gardens, natural pools and cenotes. Snorkel, swim with sharks and stingrays, get to know the hatchery of turtles, touch starfish and marine cucumbers in the coral reef aquarium swim with dolphins or, experience the temazcal, admire the equestrian shows, climb the tower scenic rotating and admire one of the best panoramic views of the park and the entire Caribbean Sea.

Travel by boat the Paradise River, admire the spectacle of the Voladores de Papantla, know the islands of the jaguar, the spider monkeys and the tapir. Visit the Mariposario, one of the largest in the world, visit Hacienda Henequenera, visit the Capilla de Guadalupe, experience the pre-Hispanic Ball Game and tour the Mayan Mexican Cemetery.
In addition, it has the reproduction of a Mayan village and a Mayan cemetery, where the festival of life and death is held at the beginning of November. Other cultural events are the charro party, the ritual of the Papantla flyers and the parade of traditional costumes. You can also watch the nightly show.
The first part describes prehispanic Mexico and includes an interpretation of the ancestral Mayan ball game, practiced in more than 500 fields in Mesoamerica.
The second is a mosaic of dancers from different regions of the country such as Yucatan, Oaxaca, Tabasco, Veracruz, Michoacán, Jalisco, among others. The sonorous zapateo, the playfulness of the courtship and the stories of love, the joy of the mariachis and the audacity of the charros that show on horseback the fortunes of the floreo move the spectators to the different states of Mexico.

- You must bring the printed proof of purchase.
- Wear a swimsuit, water shoes and comfortable clothing. Additionally, bring an extra change of clothes and a towel.
- Only use of sunblock and sunscreen containing titanium oxide and zinc oxide are allowed in the park. Otherwise, at the entrance you will find an Information Booth where you can exchange your sunscreen for a free sample of a biodegradable product. Your sunscreen will be returned to you upon departure.
- Remember to bring cash or a credit card to purchase souvenirs.
- Have basic swimming skills.
- Avoid the use of makeup or chemicals that affect the ecosystem.
- Minors may participate under the responsibility of parents or guardians
- Respect nature. To avoid mishaps with the flora and fauna of the place, follow the indications of the roads and guides.
- If you encounter an animal or insect, avoid touching it.
